Hey groovers,
July is stacked with so many great artists to keep you groovin’ through this summer.
This week, head to the Rooftop at Pier 17 for some reggae rock vibes, with Rebelution on Thursday and Friday. For some jazz, funk, R&B and soul-inspired brass music, check out Dirty Dozen Brass Band, celebrating over 40 years since their founding at Blue Note Jazz Club on Thursday-Sunday.
Groove into the weekend with South African multi-instrumentalist, St. Lucia, doing a DJ set at the Elsewhere Rooftop on Friday. Check out our interview with them here to learn more about their sound, inspiration and musical journey.
On Saturday, we’re stoked for the return of the queen of neo-soul, Erykah Badu, at Madison Square Garden. Finally, wrap up this week with more reggae vibes brought to you by the grandson of reggae icon Bob Marley, Skip Marley, at Coney Island.
Get ready for some epic throwbacks mid-month. On the 11th, we’ve got Canadian singer-songwriter and one of the best selling musicians of all time, Shania Twain, at Madison Square Garden. Or, for some R&B/hip hop vibes and early 2000s dance party déjà vu, head to the Rooftop at Pier 17 for T-Pain.
Later this month, the epic jam band, Phish, is making their return to NYC. Catch them at Madison Square Garden on the 28th-30th. Or, keep the reggae family tradition going with the son of reggae legend, Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, at Brooklyn Steel.
Finally, wrap up this month with some psychedelic funk, Turkish folk and rock vibes brought to you by Anatolian band, Altin Gün, at Brooklyn Steel, or catch Filipino-British singer, beabadoobee, at Terminal 5.
