Hey groovers,
We’re feeling very festive this holiday season, and we plan to celebrate the best way we know how-by groovin’ with the awesome artists coming this month.
First, we’ve got American electric music duo, Thievery Corporation, at Kings Theatre on the 8th. We’re excited to hear them blend acid jazz, dub, reggae and hip-hip with elements of Indian Classical and Middle Eastern music, and we know Emancipator opening will be sick too.
Mid-month, Wet Leg is doing the most-playing four back-to-back shows at four different, but all iconic, NYC venues. That’s right, catch the indie-rock band at Webster Hall on the 13th, Elsewhere on the 14th, Bowery Ballroom on the 15th and Music Hall of Williamsburg on the 16th.
We’ve also got a lot of holiday-themed shows this month. Starting with The 8 Nights of Hanukkah with Yo La Tengo at Bowery Ballroom the 18th-25th. Then we’ve got Matisyahu bringing his annual Festival of Light to Brooklyn Bowl on the 21st and 22nd, and we’re pretty stoked to see his disco ball dreidel again.
If you haven’t had a chance to hit LCD Soundsystem at Brooklyn Steel, fear not, because they are playing 12 more nights this month, with a grand finale on the 17th.
Finally, if you’re sticking around the city this New Years, catch Phish’s annual run at Madison Square Garden. The iconic jam band is returning to NYC the 28th-31st, and we can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year.
