Hey groovers,
We hope everyone is as jazzed as we are about the beginning of spring, and we’re pleased to report that there are so many great shows in April to help you celebrate the end of winter.
This week kicks off Action Bronson‘s four-night residency at Le Poisson Rouge. The rapper, songwriter, wrestler, TV presenter and chef is bringing his hard hitting lyrics and epic beats to NYC every Tuesday of this month.
This weekend, catch the genre-defying jam band, Doom Flamingo, at Brooklyn Bowl on Friday. Stay tuned for more info on a pre-game 😉 Then, for a double header, we’ve got the British dance music legend, Mr. G, at Knockdown Center.
It’s a month for residencies, with four nights of the New Zealand psychedelic rock band, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, at Webster Hall the 13th-16th. We’ve also got three nights of the funk jam band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, at Brooklyn Bowl the 13th-15th. And two nights of the French electronic music group, M83, at Terminal 5 the 25th-26th.
Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention all the great artists playing on 4/20. We’re particularly excited for French-Caribbean singer & bass player, Adi Oasis, at Brooklyn Made. We’ll be following that up with Jamaican Dancehall DJ and singer, Sister Nancy, at Superior Ingredients. The perfect combo for a very important holiday.
Finally, wrap up this month with this month with the experiential instrumentalists, City of the Sun, at Racket on the 29th. Check out our interview with them here to learn more about their origins busking in the streets of NYC, their inspiration & what lies ahead.
