Hey groovers,
While we can’t believe we’re halfway through 2022, we are pumped for all the shows this month has to offer. If you’re feeling some outside vibes on your day off, then head to Knockdown Center to check out the Berlin house collective, Keinemusik. All five members will be there, and groovin’ in the sunshine feels like a fitting way to celebrate America’s bday.
Next up, we’ve got the epic return of Soulive to Brooklyn Bowl. The classic soul-jazz organ trio will be performing four nights in a row (July 7-9th) and, trust us, you’ll want to be there for every mind-blowing solo.
Mid-month, we’re excited to see comedian-turned-rapper, Open Mike Eagle, bring “art-rap” (his term for his left-field avant-garde rap music) to the Elsewhere Rooftop on the 13th.
Also mid-month, you have two chances to catch the infamous & psychedelic Grateful Dead spinoff band with John Mayer, Dead & Company, at Citi Field on July 15th & 16th. Allegedly these will be their “last shows ever” so, needless to say, you won’t want to miss out.
Later in the month, we’re looking forward to Garth. bringing his groovy and soulful 80s-R&B-surf rock to Rockwood Music Hall on the 22nd.
On the 23rd, we’re super excited that our favorite French electronic duo, Polo & Pan, will be returning to NY for the aptly named, Greatest Day Ever festival at Forest Hills Stadium. And if once isn’t enough, you can top it off with at their DJ set at Webster Hall later that night.
You also have three chances to check out Australian five-some Parcels at Brooklyn Steel on the 23rd & 24th or at SummerStage on the 27th.
Finally, you can wrap up this month with the Los Angeles-based music collective, Soulection, bringing their genre-bending music movement to Brooklyn Mirage on the 31st.
