Hey groovers,
We can’t believe it’s August, but the great news is that there are a ton of awesome shows ahead to keep you groovin’ this summer.
Kick off this month with Norwegian singer-songwriter & record producer, girl in red, at the Rooftop at Pier 17 on Tuesday. Her last shows at Brooklyn Steel sold out quickly, so you won’t to miss this opportunity to see her live!
We have some great options at the Prospect Park Bandshell later this week, starting with Houston-based trio, Khruangbin, this Thursday and the queen of neo-soul, Erykah Badu, with Phony Ppl on Friday.
Also this month, we have two chances to catch City of the Sun. They’re bringing their experimental rock w/ heavy international influences and impeccable vibes to Baby’s All Right on the 10th and again on the 30th. We also have two chances to catch the psychedelic indie-pop band, Glass Animals, at Brooklyn Mirage on the 8th and 9th, and we have two chances to catch the electronica, indie duo, ODESZA, at Forest Hills Stadium on the 26th & 27th.
August is a big month for residencies at MSG, with a wide variety of options for any taste. Starting with the return of the Swedish house super group, Swedish House Mafia, on the 2nd and 3rd. Then we’ve got five chances to catch the American rock band, Rage Against the Machine, and, finally, Harry Styles begins his 13-night stint on the 20th.
And don’t sleep on the Elsewhere Rooftop this month as they’re rounding out the summer with a ton of great options as well. From electronic/dance DJ & producer, DJ Boring, on the 13th, to the iconic sisters, Coco & Breezy, brining blending house, R&B, pop & Afro-Latino grooves on the 25th, and Zimmer is bringing his euphoric blend of techno & disco to the roof on the 30th.
