We’ve got fantastic news for you…rooftop season is officially ON! We’re pumped to visit our fav outdoor spots (looking at you Elsewhere, Sultan Room & Pier 17!). And we’re pleased to announce that the May lineup is in full bloom.
If you’re looking to catch some rays this month, check out City of the Sun at Sultan Room. They’re playing the first three Thursday’s of May, and we honestly can’t think of a better venue for their experimental rock. Pro tip: if you’re feeling peckish don’t sleep on Turks Inn or Döner Kebab (right next door).
Mid-month we’re pumped to see British trio, Elder Island, bring their genre defying combination of electronic, neo-pop, indie and folk to The Hall at Elsewhere, and Kitchen Dwellers blend rock, folk and bluegrass at Mercury Lounge.
Speaking of rooftops, you won’t want to miss your chance to see Koffee, the Jamaican-born singer, rapper and guitarist (& youngest woman to win a Grammy in the Best Reggae Album category) at Pier 17. Her new album, Gifted, is dope too.
To close out the month, you can check out Amber Mark blending international influences at Music Hall of Williamsburg or the legendary American DJ Kaskade bringing his Redux tour back to Brooklyn Mirage. For some last day of May vibes, catch Aussie indie, electronic trio, Mansionair at Music Hall of Williamsburg. We’re particularly excited to hear their new album, Happiness, Guaranteed, live.
