Fabio Luigi has party in his blood. Born and raised in one of the most vibrant party cities in the world, Rio de Janeiro, Luigi has been cultivating his passion for music and dance since the age of 12. He initially burst onto the scene as a prominent DJ and promoter within the London nightlife community, and his energetic progressive house style quickly gained traction with bookings in prestigious clubs around Europe.
Fast forward to 2022, and Luigi has perfected his style, playing hundreds of shows on several continents around the world. He also now has a home studio, allowing him to create tons of remixes which have garnered attention on Soundcloud. After years of touring, releasing original music, and crafting remixes, he is now one of Brazil’s most popular DJs, and is the Resident DJ of two of the biggest nightlife brands in the country, We Party and The Week.
Luigi has had an incredible summer season to this point, and it’s far from over. He started with the release of his new single “Forget You” on all platforms on June 13. Following the drop, he traveled to New York for Planet Pride, and played shows around the city. He has also recently made stops in Brazil, Israel, and Spain, and will play shows in Chile, Croatia, and Greece before the summer is over.
We caught up with Luigi after his Planet Pride performance where he answered a few questions for the groovement:
What was your first gig?
My first gig was in Murcia, Spain. It was a beach party with a beautiful sunset.
How did you first get started?
Then, I became an internal gogo dancer which eventually led me to Deejaying myself.
How would you describe your music – either by genre or general vibe?
My music is Tribal, progressive house. It is uplifting, happy with vocals. I play only what would make me dance 🙂
Who/what do you draw inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from all my travels and seeing the best DJs performing. For example Peter Rauhofer, Victor Calderone, Tiato Tikaro and David Guetta.
Who do you hope to inspire?
I hope to inspire the new generation to be able to enjoy the moment and to share happiness.
What’s your dream venue to perform at?
I have to say, I would love to play at Amnesia, Ibiza.
Describe your ideal night out in NYC or your most memorable night out in NYC.
I love the energy of NYC, the ideal night out would be a lovely dinner with friends with a great night out afterwards listening to top artists. My most memorable night in NYC was definitely this year’s New York Pride. It was magic!
What’s your favorite city to tour?
This is a difficult question, there are many wonderful cities. For example, Madrid, Tel Aviv, NYC, Dubai, São Paulo, Cancun and Sydney but there are many more!
